Mindful  Moves LLC was founded in December of 2009. Starting with the idea that dance belongs to everyone, Founder Cynthia Alicea started providing classes to seniors in Retirement Communities. The demand for classes grew, adjunct facilitators hired, and varied curriculum added.

At the end of 2019, we provided Seated Dance to Assisted Living Facilities, Skilled Nursing and Memory Care Units, as well as a weekly Dancing Through Parkinson's class sponsored by Neuro Challenge Foundation.

By mid-March 2020, all classes were stopped due to COVID-19.
During Covid, Cynthia became certified to provide Instinctive Meditation classes, and the Neuro Challenge Foundation switched to Zoom Programming. After becoming an Instinctive Meditation Guide, Cynthia offered several sessions via Zoom.  When things began to open up after Covid, Cynthia was invited back to Regal Palms and until her move, she remained there, as well as leading Zoom Instinctive Meditation sessions and Dancing Through Parkinson's classes .

In April 2023, Cynthia relocated to Marion County, FL. During this transition period, she took a break from her Meditation classes; however, continued with Dancing Through Parkinson's via Zoom. In July, she began providing meditations to those with Parkinson's at "On Top of the World"  Neuro Challenge Support Group Meetings in Ocala.

As life would have it, Cynthia's focus slowly evolved from dance to art.  Early in 2024, she joined the Ocala Art Group. There she hoped to make new connections and pursue another life-long love, that of creating. Throughout the years, she has played with all types of media from macrame, to pottery, to watercolor and acrylics. Presently she has been experimenting with collages, but continues to incorporate watercolor, color pencils, and acrylics in her pieces.

Her work has been displayed at several different venues in the Ocala/Leesburg area along with other Ocala Art Group members.  As creating art is her form of morning meditation, she has been very productive.  With the realization that her home could no longer house all of her creations, she decided to offer the public opportunities to purchase pieces.

Moments to Memories

Art is visual communication. A piece of art should speak to the person who created it, as well as to the viewer. This piece was created for myself as a means to deal with life's swift movement forward in directions that are sometimes planed while other times twists without warning.  I chose it, at least for awhile, to be my logo for my new venture. It is with great pleasure, I add, Montage Madness.
