Thumbs Up!
Dancing Through Parkinson's was invited to participate
in the Crane Dance Project.
"All members of the Parkinson’s Disease community are invited to create a dance or movement piece inspired by the origami cranes in the art installation ‘Soaring With Hope.’ Your Dance piece will add to the celebration of the Spirit of Hope as symbolized in the traditional Japanese origami crane. All video submissions will be compiled into a single continuous video which will be shown at the 5th World Parkinson’s Congress in Kyoto, Japan 2019. Be a part of the World Parkinson’s Congress!"
We worked on the choreography together as a group to come up with a two minute dance, we called: Dreams of Soaring. Click on: Photos and Videos to check out our dance.

Mindful Moves presents monthly
"Movement" workshops
at Memory Monday Meetings.
Mindful Moves was hired as a VSA teaching artist to present thirty minute Movement Workshops at Memory Monday meetings in St. Petersburg. Memory Monday meetings are for those with Dementia and their companion. In these meetings, participants experience several activities in one session. Most of the experiences are theme-based. Themes have ranged from "Pets" to "Sports" to "Gratitude," Mindful Moves creates the mini-workshop to conform to the monthly theme.
Mindful Moves presents an Introduction to "Dancing Through Parkinson's
In both February and November of 2017, Cynthia presented Introductory Workshops of her Dancing Through Parkinson's classes at the Parkinson's Cafe in downtown St. Petersburg, FL. Each time she provided background knowledge and then took participants through a shortened version of a class. During lunch in the November workshop, she offered the opportunity to view the video, "Capturing Grace" documenting a year in the lives of those who are members of the Dance for PD program in Brooklyn, N.Y.
